Error Message When Starting the Windows Version of Stop Motion Studio

If you get the following or a similar error message when starting the application:

Error: Exception from HRESULT: CAProjectExplorer(888)

This error message indicates that the application cannot access the project folder. The default location is the user’s video folder. This may be due to a permissions issue or the folder being deleted.

Solution:

To resolve this issue:

1. Create a New Project Folder:
   • Open the application settings in Stop Motion Studio.
   • Create a new project folder in a location that you can access easily.
2. Ensure Permissions:
   • Make sure that Stop Motion Studio has the necessary permissions to access the new folder.
   • You can do this by right-clicking on the folder, selecting “Properties,” and then adjusting the permissions under the “Security” tab.
3. Check Folder Availability:
   • Verify that the new project folder exists and is not deleted or moved.

Following these steps should resolve the error and allow the application to start correctly.
