Using a USB Camera

Upgrade your animation setup by integrating a USB-connected web camera into Stop Motion Studio. These cameras offer enhanced image quality and flexibility, providing you with more creative options for your animations.

How to use a USB Camera:

  1. Connect Your Camera: Start by connecting your USB camera to your device using the appropriate cable or adapter. Ensure that the camera is securely connected and powered on.

  2. Access Capture Settings: While in capture mode, navigate to the capture settings menu by pressing the capture settings button .

  3. Select Your Camera: Within the capture settings menu, choose the USB camera from the capture source menu . Note that it may take up to a minute for Stop Motion Studio to recognize the camera. If you don’t see the camera immediately, try restarting the app.

  4. Preview Your Feed: Once the camera is selected, you should see a live image feed from the camera displayed on the capture frame. Use this preview to ensure that your camera is properly positioned and framed for your animation.


USB camera functionality is supported on macOS, Windows, and certain iPad models.
